Our Story and why Chilliwack
Tayler Schenkeveld and Andy Maxwell Mawji met in 2020 and fast found themselves in a relationship. After 9 long months, they moved in together and soon after started a family by raising their labradoodle, Hartley. Their family grew last year with the addition of loving Wilfred, a rescue pup Tayler found on a reservation while working. Maxwell would say he loves Tayler's creativity, healing nature, and mission of cultural connection. Tayler would say she loves Maxwell's thoughtfulness, tenacity, and creative spirit. They play cribbage fiercely, forage the woods clumsily, and love each other wholly.
Tayler and Maxwell have a yearly trip out to the BC coast to visit family. Maxwell introduced Tayler to Vancouver Island where his dad lives. She spends her time there beach combing, picking chanterelles, and being dragged on fishing trips. Tayler introduced Maxwell to Chilliwack where her Grandmother and Auntie lived. Maxwell spends his time there exploring the Vedder River, confused at bingo, and battling Tayler's auntie in marbles.
On Christmas Eve 2021, Tayler's grandmother Ida suddenly passed away; she was Tayler's hero and in Ida's loving memory, we wish to be married where she called home and made us feel so welcome.
The Wedding
Venue
Loveleigh Lavender
Loveleigh Lavender is a home estate and lavender farm in the Yarrow community of Chilliwack. It features open lavender fields cropped to a heart if seen from above. The venue also has a rustic barn indoor setting, fire pit areas and is all set to glow at night with lights all around the property. Our wedding will combine the indoor and outdoor locations into one seamless design. We want our wedding to feel like moments of sunset, growing fields, and harvest.

Transportation
Chilliwack is located just past Hope and is the first city in the BC mainland just after the mountains. Chilliwack is a 9-hour drive from Calgary, a 12-hour drive from Edmonton, a 1-hour drive from Vancouver, and a 30-minute drive from the nearest airport in Abbotsford. We know this distance to travel is a lot and if it is not in your cards to travel during this time, we completely understand.
Accommodation
Chilliwack is a small city with easy access everywhere. If you stay south of the Trans Canada Highway, the wedding venue will only be about a 10-minute drive from you. The Vedder River Inn comes highly recommended and would put you centrally near the parts of Chilliwack we fell in love with. Alternatively, a fun idea would be to take advantage of the many campgrounds in and around Chilliwack.
Registry & Donations
In the case of a registry, we have decided to forgo tradition and ask that you observe the following: Your presence is present enough to us, and we truly appreciate you being with us on our wedding day. We have most objects we want and need and if you insist on getting us something know we are people of sentiment and whimsy who would most appreciate a gift rooted in the heart.
That being said if you wish to donate to the wedding, you can send a transfer to Tayler or Maxwell's email, or select the donate button. All proceeds will go to fund our special day and help with our road trip honeymoon we wish for.
